My Travelling Dreams
When I think back to all the wonderful places that I have travelled to it all just seems like a dream, that it didn’t really happen. It’s like I just woke up one day and thought that was just amazing its a pity it didn’t happen but it did and it was unbelievable. The only thing that makes me believe it now is the photos and wonderful memories.
I did a lot of my travelling before I became a mother of course (it’s not as easy to just pack a suitcase and head to the airport when you have a little baby in tow). I would say my life has changed a lot but since Ollie arrived, travelling has to take a back seat for a while but I am ok with that as I am moving on to the next chapter which is just as wonderful. I can’t wait to show my babies the world when they get a bit older and discover new places together.
2014 was a crazy year, I did so much travelling that year not to mention planning a wedding/getting married. So many flights, so many adventures, what an amazing year.
We went to Bali on our honeymoon and was by far one of my favourite places, so much culture and beautiful scenery. The rainforest of Ubud, so tranquil and the beautiful beaches in Seminyak, paradise. It was an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend anyone to do this at some point, I loved it there.
We also went to the Maldives as part of the trip, it was stunning, if you are looking for relaxation in paradise then it doesn’t get any better than this. I literally did nothing but lie on the beach, snorkel, eat, sleep and drink cocktails, heaven! My God, the photos just look so amazing, the sand is pure white and the ocean is as blue as they look on all the travel brochures. I honestly couldn’t believe how perfect it was.
Although I’ve done a lot of travelling in recent years, I actually hate flying. I’ve gotten considerably better because I’ve had no choice but I still can’t stand it. I had so many people tell me that its the safest mode of transport and I shouldn’t be nervous but it doesn’t work, I just keep thinking the worst. When you think about it though, you are sitting in a flying tin can, 35,000ft in the sky, it’s just crazy! Anyway, I try not to think about it because if I do, I’d never travel and how could I miss out on all those wonderful experiences.
I’ve so many plans for the future and travelling is definitely on the agenda. It will be different and will take some more planning/organising than before but it will be worth it to see my babies faces as they witness wonderful new places.
Until then, this is what I have treasured in my travel book so far.
